Teaching style

Kirsten's success is her unique teaching style which is founded in the following principles:

1) Learning type
The first step is to identify the learning type of the student. Some students prefer to learn with lesson slides, diagrams etc. Some students learn better with videos, pictures, audio files and some students like to concentrate on grammar.
No matter what learning type you are, Kirsten will adapt the lesson to it.

2) Needs and objectifs
Second step is to verify the needs and objectifs of the student so it can be guaranteed that the student will reach his goal in the shortest possible time.

3) Interests
Third step is to find out about the interests of the student. Kirsten believes that a student should have fun while learning a language. So she adapts the topics of the course to the centers of interest of the student.

4) Individualisation
Based on the three first step the fourth step is the developpement of the course. Each course is individualised to the needs of each student. So a high effectifness with great learning results can be guaranteed.

In early 2008 the idea for Deutsch Happen was born. Kirsten wanted to offer a possibility to her students to learn between the courses. So she started to make video lessons which she would send to them per Email.

With the time, this project developped more and more and in April 2008 the first video went online on YouTube. Soon after that, the website www.deutschhappen.com was born.
